Have you noticed, 8 out of the 10 guys on the US Open leader board had Titleist next to their name. Is Titleist the best ball to use in a US Open? Luke Donald the guy who is in the lead, who still has to finish round 1, used Titleist.

The only 2 guys who are in the top ten after day one that didn’t have Titleist next to their name was Phil Mickelson and Peter Hedblom. The conditions at the US Open were soft greens and soft fairways. The guys at the top including the leader Donald used Titleist.

Some of the guys who are struggling should consider making he switch back to Titleist if this ball give you an advantage. You can see guys like Woods and Garcia don’t have Titleist next to their names. Could this be one of the reasons they aren’t scoring well?

It could be like using the right tires at a car race. Titleist could be the right ball to use in a US Open set up. It is going to be interesting to see how well Titleist does come Sunday at the 113th US Open. Does the ball make a difference? We will find out once the Leader-board is set after the final round on Sunday.

I have a feeling if we were to ask Luke Donald about the ball, he would say yes, it makes a difference.
