46-year old actor, Philip Seymour Hoffman is dead. Seymour’s body was found in his New York City apartment earlier Sunday morning. The apparent cause of death could be a drug overdose.

Reports state, Hoffman still had a syringe in his arm and an envelope containing what is believed to be heroin. His body was found by police about 11:30 AM Est..

Police entered the apartment, after one of Hoffman’s friends was concerned after not being able to reach the actor.

A law enforcement official who requested anonymity because he was not certain the actor’s family had been informed of the death, said;“It’s pretty apparent that it was an overdose.” “The syringe was in his arm.”

Hoffman won an Academy Award for Best Actor his role in the 2005 film “Capote,” in which he portrayed the writer Truman Capote.

Hoffman was no stranger to drug use, he went under treatment for drug addiction in the past, and spoke in interviews about “falling off the wagon” last year after remaining clean for 23 years.

Again, Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman found dead of an apparent drug overdose.
