Has anyone considered what the Ohio State Buckeyes football team would look like if Carlos Hyde wasn’t a part of this team? You have to admit, Hyde is one of those guys who adds a whole other dimension to the team. He can rush for a couple of hundred yards in a game, and he can determine the outcome almost all by himself.

Take his performance last week. The guy ran for 246 yards and scored 5 touchdowns. That is half of the Ohio State Buckeyes 60 points. Hyde is a beast in college football and you just have to wonder, if having Hyde on this Buckeyes team, hurts Braxton Miller’s chances of winning the Heisman Trophy.

Don’t get me wrong, I love to watch Hyde run the football, but having him performing the way he does, certainly take some of the focus from Miller.

If Hyde wasn’t a part of this Buckeyes team, I think they would have no choice but to favor Miller’s passing game a little more. Then the Heisman votes would probably swing a little more in his favor.  The kid is an excellent quarterback and, truthfully he deserves some consideration after leading the Buckeyes to 2 undefeated seasons. (Hope I’m Not Jumping the Gun).

But the fact is, some could say it is Carlos Hyde that carries this Ohio State Buckeyes team, and who could argue the point. Both guys compliment each other extremely well. Miller can rely heavily on Hyde and that could be part of the problem when it comes to Heisman votes.
