Good news for the Cleveland Indians and their fans. The best set up man in all of major league baseball is ready to return to the Indians Bull-Pen. Vinnie Pestano who was placed on the 15 day disabled list because of a sore right elbow, is ready to return.
Pestano had a rehab assignment with the Lake County Captains on Wednesday, threw a scoreless inning. Afterwards he told reporters in a post game press conference he was ready to go. Pestano underwent Tommy John surgery before coming to the Cleveland Indians.
He said the pain in his elbow wasn’t related to the surgery and he feels like he is set to return to Major League baseball. The Tribe has to be hoping Pestano is OK. He has been one of the best ste-up men in baseball over the past few seasons.
Pestano is an intense competitor and he has a way to get the job done. Vinnie is his own worse credit. He comes running in from the bull-pen in a full sprint. Once he takes the mound, you just have a feeling the Indians are going to cruise through the inning.
