WEWS will air a special tonight about Browns Owner Jimmy Haslam III’s company entitled Haslam The Raid The Lawsuits The People. The special will expose somethings people aren’t aware of. Investigative reporter Ron Regan has followed this story since in broke in April.
Regan has said there are 35 employees that worked for Haslam at his company Pilot Flying J that have been implicated in the fraud that took place. Regan also said, the FBI was investigating Haslam’s company for 2 years before the raid took place.
He is also reporting that on the day of the raid, some employees gave themselves up to the FBI as soon as they took over the company in April. Several employees have already plead guilty to the fraud and are expected to testify against others. Haslam III still maintains he knew nothing about what was taking place.
It is difficult to imagine a hands on CEO like Haslam not knowing that 35 of his employees were involved in defrauding his customers out of millions of dollars over a 2 year period.
Tonight’s television special should shed some light on exactly what was going on behind closed doors inside of Jimmy Haslam’s business. Haslam and his lawyers are still fighting to block him from giving sworn testimony in the case. Tonight’s special will also talk about all the lawsuits and how this could effect the Cleveland Browns.
It should be an interesting show to say the least.
