Now that the Cleveland Browns have assembled their new coaching staff for the 2014 season, some fans aren’t too impressed. Mike Pettine comes to the Browns from the Buffalo Bills who had a record of 6-10 last season. The Bills used Pettine as their defensive coordinator, and the Bills were one spot worse than the Browns in total defense.

Pettine then went back to Buffalo to add his line-backer coach to his new coaching staff in Cleveland, naming him the defensive coordinator. The Browns continued to search for the teams new offensive coordinator as rumors about the Browns CEO Joe Banner wanting more control over the teams offense started to swirl.

The team made it official naming Kyle Shanahan as their OC going forward. He signed a 3 year deal yesterday.

Now that the team has their new coaching staff in place some fans are wondering if these guys are just going to be yes men for Joe Banner and the Browns General Manager Michael Lombardi.

One fan left the comment that these guys will be nothing more than bobble-head statues to Banner and Lombardi.

If this is the case, the Cleveland Browns may not finish the 2014 season any better than they did in 2013. The team is obviously back to rebuilding and this could be another 3-4 year project. You just have to wonder how long the team will leave this coaching staff in place if they don’t win.
