The Cleveland Browns have signed yet another quarterback, bringing the 2013 tally to 5. They signed Caleb Hanie, the former Bears back up who was in Cleveland for a try out last week when the team signed tick shot artist Alex Tanny.
Hanie hasn’t handle a live snap in a NFL game since the 2011 season. There is actually talk of him starting for the Browns when they travel to New England to take on the Patriots this weekend. I don’t see why they would choose to start Hanie over Tanney, especially if the team signed Tanney over Hanie in the first place.
Jason Campbell has been cleared to start football activities yesterday, he wasn’t cleared to practice and the team sent Weeden home to follow the leagues concussion guide lines yesterday.
Many Browns fans are hoping they send Weeden home forever. It will be interesting to see who Cleveland sends onto the field Sunday in New England.
Hanie was last with the Ravens this season and he also spent time with the Broncos in 2012. He has thrown 3 td’s and 10 interceptions in his NFL career. He has a QB rating of 41.6. The team must have been on a mission to find someone worse than Brandon Weeden with this signing.
This way the fans can’t say Weeden is the worst QB the Browns ever had anymore.
