It’s was five months to-the-day, since Bobbie Porter lost the fight of her life to pancreatic cancer, that undefeated boxer, Shawn Porter would find himself climbing back into the ring to defend his title of being undefeated against a worthy opponent by the name of Phil Lo Greco.

Porter knew he was going to be in for a fight, but he also knew this fight was nothing compared to the battle his grandmother lost earlier this year. Porter has fought for a long time, he had an astounding amateur record of 276-14 and his professional record is now making people take notice. IBF Welterweight Champion Devon Alexander is one of them who should be standing up to take notice. With a professional record of 21-0-1 (14 by K.O.) it won’t be long until Porter gets his hands around one of the World Championship belts.

This kid is something special, not only does he do battle inside the ring, he and his father, Ken Porter are helping people outside the ring do battle too. The battle the Porter’s are helping others train for, is the battle against Cancer.

With the loss of his grandmother, (Ken’s Mother) the Porters realized, early detection is the key to beating this terrible disease. They also realized, no one is immune to Cancer. With that being said, the Porter’s are making people aware of early detection. They don’t want to see others suffer the way they saw Shawn’s grandmother suffer.

Each time Shawn Porter steps into the ring, he is wearing a robe with something pink on it. The Porter’s goal is to bring awareness to early detection. They want people to train to fight the disease the same way Porter trains to stay undefeated.

Porter finds it easy to step into the ring and win a boxing match. He won on a wide decision last Saturday night over Phil Lo Greco. Porter dominated fellow unbeaten prospect Lo Greco who came into the fight with a record of 25-0. Porter clearly out-classed Lo Greco in the fight.

Porter knocked Lo Greco down twice in the fight. The first came in the 9th round and he knocked him down again in the 10th. The official judges’ scored the fight 99-89, 100-88, and 100-88. BLH had it 100-88 for Porter. You can clearly see that Porter dominated the fight in the same way he wants people to learn to dominate Cancer, by taking control of your opponent in the early rounds of the fight.
